Each year, a member from each chorus is named to the regional Wall of Fame and is honored during competition weekend. This year, our honoree was Judy Sisson, Piney Hills Harmony president and bass section leader. Here, she poses with the award display in Houston.
Here is what her award said:
"Judy Sisson joined Piney Hills Harmony in 1999 and has been an
extremely valuable and respected member ever since. Judy is currently serving
her 2nd consecutive term as president and also served consecutive terms in the
mid-2000's. Other current posts include bass section leader and chair of the
Bylaws and Rules Committee. She has been a member of 2 quartets – Sweet Harmony
and Bella Bleu – both of which participated in regional competition and brought
much pleasure to their Louisiana audiences. Her lovely, resonant, strong bass
voice is the envy of many. In 2002, while PHHC was a member of Region 25, Judy
was voted the chorus' Sweet Adeline of the Year.
"Judy faithfully attends regional events and frequently
attends international competitions – and can't wait to get home to share the
excitement and knowledge that she gained during her SAI travels.
"In addition to her musical and administrative skills, Judy
is always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to anyone in need.
She serves as a wonderful example of a loving, compassionate individual.
"In her non-chorus life, Judy is an
optician/ophthalmic technician at Haik Humble Eye Center in Monroe. In that
capacity she makes annual trips to Central America with a medical mission team that
provides eye care to the poor and underprivileged. She has 2 children, 5
grandchildren and 2.5 great-grandchildren."
Congratulations, Judy! We love and appreciate you!!!
