Chorus wins growth, marketing awards

'A Cappella Mania' mapped out for region

Keera McNeill, Lisa Holmes, Sallie Rose Hollis, Rebecca McNeill

Help us sing it and ring it!

We've got six nights of "A Cappella Mania" planned, and we want YOU to attend if you're within driving distance of Ruston and you like to sing. Currently we have members from Ruston, Shreveport, Sterlington, Winnfield, Farmerville, Homer, Monroe, Rayville and other places nearby.

During the next two months, we're hosting both a membership drive and a series of free group vocal lessons. The membership drive will be June 9, 16 and 23 and the vocal lessons July 14, 21 and 28.
In the membership drive, you'll learn how to fit your voice into our four-part harmony chorus. You'll have a chance to interact with the chorus during the first part of rehearsal, from 6-8 p.m., when special activities are planned - just for you!

During the following vocal lessons, sessions will include training on many topics that affect vocal production, such as resonance, breathing, posture and much more. Because they're group lessons, there's no worry about being intimidated!

Women of all ages and all voice ranges are welcome - and you don't have to be able to read music! Please feel free to attend either or both parts of "A Cappella Mania"; you may start at any point in the series.

Sweet Adelines is the world's largest singing organization for women, and this local group is a fun, warm and welcoming circle of potential friends.

We meet in the fellowship hall of the Presbyterian Church of Ruston. For more information call Carol Ogle at (318) 348-2291 or Judy Sisson at (318) 237-9203. You can also visit www.pineyhillsharmony.org.
