PHHC to carol Dec. 21 in Monroe, beginning with War Veterans Home

The chorus will present a three-facility Christmas carol tour Saturday in Monroe, starting at 2 p.m. at the War Veterans Home on U.S. 165 North.  Then, we'll move to Azalea Estates on Old Sterlington Road around 3:15 p.m. and then across the street to Avalon Place around 3:45 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come join us!

'O Holy Night' in forecast for Piney Hills Harmony, White's Ferry Road Church



Piney Hills Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines will present "O Holy Night: A Celebration in Song" at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at White's Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe. Several other ensembles and vocalists will also sing, including Calhoun native and current Nashville singer/songwriter Chancie Neal.

Chorus selections will include "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," "Mary Had a Baby," "A Gift of Love," "Huron Carol ('Twas in the Moon of Wintertime)" and "Carol of the Bells." The finale will be a solo of "O Holy Night" by chorus member Donna Fike, of Monroe, with chorus members accompanying her.

Other performers include 4 His Glory, Bayou Blend and Rhapsody! quartets. 4 His Glory and Rhapsody! are composed of members from Piney Hills Harmony, which is based in Ruston; Bayou Blend is a barbershop quartet from Monroe.

Additional vocalists from the White's Ferry Road Church include Addison Culp, Patti Richardson, the Kids Chorus and the Praise Team.

Quartet members are as follows:
* 4 His Glory – Jean Dunham, Ginger Hicks and Ann Walker, all of West Monroe; and Teresa Howard, of Monroe.
* Bayou Blend – Karl Davis, of Bastrop; and Chuck Hughes, David Laws and Nick Lynch, all of Monroe.
* Rhapsody! – Fike, Carol Ogle and Judy Sisson, all of Monroe; and Sheila Nugent, of Ruston.

Admission is free. A Christmas cookie fellowship will follow the show. The church is located at 3201 N. 7th St.
