Piney Hills Harmony will present a sneak peek at its regional competition package during Friends and Family Night at 7 p.m. Monday, March 15.
The event is a dress rehearsal for our upcoming performance at Region 25 competition in Dallas, where choruses and quartets from five states will participate. Monday's presentation will be the fellowship hall of the Presbyterian Church of Ruston, 212 N. Bonner.
In addition to presenting the competition set – "I'm Alone Because I Love You" and "How Many Hearts Have You Broken?" -- we will sing several songs from our repertoire.
Two quartets from within the chorus will also perform Monday night, along with an associate member of PHH:
* Sweet Harmony – Lea Rutherford, of West Monroe; and Donna Fike, Carol Ogle and Judy Sisson, all of Monroe. They will participate in the Dallas contest.
* Take Four – Lisa Holmes, of Homer; Teresa Howard, of Monroe; and Jean Dunham and Ginger Hicks, of West Monroe.
* Associate member Amanda McDowell, of Farmerville.
Admission is free. A silent auction will be held in connection with the event.
Piney Hills Harmony is part of Sweet Adelines International, a highly respected organization of female singers who meet regularly to rehearse, share their creative talents, socialize and have fun. Active members belong to a chorus; some also sing in quartets. Sweet Adelines’ groups perform for the public and may compete at regional and international levels. Why do members join and stay with the organization? Singing, friendship, potential for personal growth - and good times!
